Hõbemäe farm is a family business in Kanepi parish where horses are at the heart of every day. We look after them in the stable and on organic paddocks, ride along field and forest roads, practise in the sand arena and in winter harness a horse to the sleigh.

What we do
Life at Hõbemäe farm
Everyday life on the farm revolves around the horses, but there is plenty of other work all year round. Here is a short overview of what we do.

Stable and paddocks
The horses live in a stable with stalls and go out on organic paddocks. Feeding, grooming and keeping an eye on their health is daily work.

Field and forest roads
The fields, forests and village roads of Kanepi parish offer quiet routes for both short and longer rides.

Sand arena and jumps
For riding, the farm has a sand arena with jumps. It is used for flatwork as well as jumping.

Rides together
We ride with friends and other riders. In traffic we wear hi-vis vests so that horse and rider are easy to see.

Winter sleigh rides
When the ground is covered in snow, a horse is harnessed to the sleigh. An evening sleigh ride through white snow is the best part of winter.

Coloured eggs
The farm's hens roam freely outdoors and lay eggs in different colours. We sell eggs by the box: 10 eggs cost 3 €.

About
A family business where the horse comes first
OÜ Hõbepõllu was founded in 2019 and runs Hõbemäe farm in Erastvere village, Kanepi parish. The company is managed by Sigrid Luige.
Horses are part of every day here: feeding, pasture, grooming and riding. What matters most is that the horse is healthy, calm and well cared for.
